Dear Carpet users,

the University of Tübingen will perform preventive maintenance on
September 20, from 13:00 to 14:00 German time. That means that all
Carpet servers (web, mail, cvs, darcs) will be shut down some time
before and after this time, potentially for the whole day.

Remember that each Carpet checkout contains a copy of all web pages
in the CarpetWeb pseudo thorn. Emails will be held and delivered
later. Furthermore, darcs allows you to make a local copy of the
official repository which you can use during the outage.

The official announcement follows:

Dear colleagues,

In two weeks, an the 20th of September, the highly popular emergency
power test will take place between 13.00 and 14.00. According to the
experience from last time power tests we will shut down all computers
considerably earlier this time, and we will use the whole day for
internal maintenance work. This means:

None of the institute's computers can be used during the whole of the
20th of September!
