No, these have very likely different causes. In your case, you are
restarting with a different grid structure, so that not all grid
points can be filled from the data in the checkpoint file. There are
two ways to set up the grid structure after recovery: you can either
specify it manually, either in the parameter file, or by activating a
thorn which sets up the grid structure before recovering, or you can
use the grid structure which is stored in the checkpoint file.
