Could this be related to

WARNING level 0 in thorn CarpetIOHDF5 processor 0 host ic0138
  (line 519 of
/home/knarf/Cactus/Cactus/configs/tp/build/CarpetIOHDF5/Input.cc):
  -> 228 variables on mglevel 0 reflevel 1 have been read only partially

which I have just seen, with moving grids as well?

If not, what could be the reason? There was no error while writing the
checkpoint.
