The adaptive regridding method is not finished. It is unlikely that
this particular implementation will be finished; it has not seen
development in quite some time. I have a movie that uses it to
evolve the scalar wave equation, and I may be able to find the
parameter file that I used for this. One shortcoming is that it
works only on a single processors.
In our applications, there has not really been a need for full
adaptivity. We tend to have certain features in our simulations,
such as black holes and neutron stars, and we choose the grid
hierarchy by tracking these features. Full adaptivity would e.g. be
needed if we tracked shock waves that propagate arbitrarily through
the domain. At the moment, we can still live with much simpler
regridding algorithms.
