[Carpet] Lower-dimensional HDF5 output?

My reply got stuck for a bit of time, I guess, since I immediately got 
an automatic reply saying something like "your mail will not be processed 
until approved by the owner of the mailing list". No problem, but I'd 
guess others may have had the same experience.

I am using the precision, but have not been aware of the option of having 
various variables in one file.

That would be good, I think.

Documentation is always great, but I have not had a situation 
recently where I had been looking for certain documentation
and not been able to get the info.
