When you record a patch for Carpet, then it is a good idea to say in  
the patch name which thorn is affected.  It is also a good idea to  
make changes only to single thorns, because this avoids complicated  
dependencies between patches.  Most patch names read something like  
this:

[CarpetLib] add option to omit Fortran 90 files by adding -DOMIT_F90  
to compiler flags
