Hi,
For the past few months Thomas Radke and I have been working on a
project to try to understand the details of how Carpet scheduling
works, and (more recently) to document what we've found. We now have
a document which we think is both factually correct and fairly complete.
After only about an hour's tussle with darcs :(, I've managed to get
this into the repository. It's in
.../arrangements/Carpet/doc/scheduling.{tex,bib}
[This is the same directory which already contains (among other goodies)
the ``first-steps'' and ``internals'' guides for the Carpet arrangement.]
Thomas and I would welcome comments; it's probably best to send or
cc them to this list so others can benefit from any followup discussion.
(We already know that some examples would be a really good idea to
add to this writeup; you don't need to tell us that!)
[The new documentation includes a superset of all the information that
used to live in
.../arrangements/Carpet/Carpet/doc/schedule.tex
so I have removed this latter file from the repository to avoid the
confusion of having the same information in different forms in two
different files.]
ciao,
