I'm curious, does this same compiler choke trying to compile the
AEILocalInterp, eg in one or more of the source files
Hermite/3d.cube.oder3.c
Lagrange-tensor-product/3d.cube.order4.smooth0.c
? These are (machine-generated files which are) also doing high-order
interpolations...
