During the last month, Carpet was declared stable, which means that this 
particular version will see no major changes any more.  Errors will 
continue to be corrected (such as today, where I found a particularly 
embarrassing problem with interpolation).  A development branch will be 
created soon.

Current efforts concentrate on the scalability for parallel runs.  
Recent observations indicate that Carpet is actually and unfortunately 
worse than we assumed.
